Church collection

Church collections are an amazing way you can support Christian Aids Work. Read on for our top tips on organising a service and how to find further support.

Speak to your church leader

Work with your minister or church leader to arrange a Christian Aid Week service. You could share resources such as our model order of service and sermon notes.

Many churches choose to hold a Christian Aid Sunday service and collection to launch their fundraising celebrations.

Even if you don’t use our materials your church leader can still support your local fundraising. Could they commission collectors within a service or help say thank you to volunteers? Could they publicise your event in church or share why Christian Aid’s work is special to them? A request to a local dignitary or VIP may have more weight from your church leader.

Get your resources

We have a range of resources to add depth and interest to your services. Visit caweek.org/resources to see what’s available. Our resources are flexible but usually include sermon notes, a model order of service and accompanying PowerPoint, prayer sheet and all-age service and activities.

We also offer printed resources such as our daily devotional, a 7-day prayer and reflection journey which could be handed out in services prior to Christian Aid Week.

Share our film

Each year we create a church film sharing the Christian Aid week stories and bringing them to life. It's ideal for church services. We often have other audiovisual resources available such as prayers, songs and reflective films to make your service engaging and uplifting. You can view our Christian Aid resources to access even more worship content.

Invite a volunteer speaker

Christian Aid has a team of highly trained and experienced volunteers who can come and deliver an inspirational talk about our work, sharing the Christian Aid week stories with you and your church. Contact us for availability.

Take up a collection

  1. We can provide you with physical Christian Aid donation envelopes (order through our resources section) or provide options for your congregation to give online;
  2. Create a digital envelope quickly and easily. You can link your envelope to your church or group too!
  3. We also have contactless devices available – free to our supporting churches – which can be requested on our website.
