COP27

In places like East Africa, the climate crisis is causing sweeping floods that are destroying homes, habitats, and the rights of people to lead their own lives. While wealthy countries have historically done most to cause the crisis, it is poor countries that are facing the gravest consequences.

Convened by the UN, COP27 will see world leaders meeting in November for two weeks of climate negotiations. Countries like the UK have a moral obligation to act. World leaders must use this opportunity to do more to tackle the climate crisis.  

Christian Aid is calling for the creation of an international climate fund, paid for by polluters and governments. By creating this fund, we can pay for the damage caused by the climate crisis, tackle inequality, and help people build a life free from poverty and injustice.
