Carol Hui OBE

Carol Hui OBE is a qualified lawyer and seasoned non-executive and executive director, having served on various boards for over 25 years in private, public and charitable sectors.
In her professional career, Carol was an Executive Director, the Chief of Staff and General Counsel of Heathrow Airport, retiring in 2021. Amongst her varied portfolio, she was the chair of their Charities and Communities Committee, providing oversight for the charitable work of Care International, Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme, Heathrow Community Trust and the Chaplaincy.
Carol has a particular focus on sustainability and is currently the Chair of the Sustainability Committee at Breedon Group plc and Chair of the Responsible Business Committee at Grainger plc. She has been a speaker and contributor for the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
She is experienced in governance, business assurance and risk management and was appointed by the Financial Reporting Council to the Sounding Board for Sir James Wates’s governance review of large private businesses. She was a Board member of British Tourist Authority (Visit Britain) and chaired their Audit and Risk Committee.
She is also an independent Non-Executive Director on the Lord Chamberlain’s Committee.
Carol has received numerous awards in her career including from the International Law Office, the FT and PwC and has led her teams to win British Charity of the Year, Legal Innovation and Sustainable Business of the Year awards. She received an OBE in the 2024 New Year’s Honours for her services to tourism.
She is a committed Christian and has had a lifelong interest in voluntary work and human welfare. Carol enjoys reading and cookery.
