Sam Bickersteth brings experience of international development programming and policy development with a focus on climate change. He was Chief Executive of the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), and has extensive knowledge of international and national climate change and development issues, their impacts and resilience measures.

Sam has delivered climate change, environment, agriculture and food security, and entrepreneurship programmes.  He has lived and worked in Asia, Africa and Latin America with DFID, with Oxfam and other NGOs and began his overseas career with the Anglican Church in Sri Lanka.   

Sam currently holds advisory roles with the Global Resilience Partnership at Stockholm University, with the University of Oxford, and is a Board member of Windle Trust International.

Sam has extensive networks across the development and climate change sectors both in the UK and globally and has been a lifelong supporter of Christian Aid and with his local church, doing the house-to-house collections of Christian Aid Week for over 10 years. Sam is a practising member of an Anglican Church and serves on its PCC.
