Speak truth to power this Spring!

As an organisation founded on justice and love, we believe in the power of prayerful protest. We’re joining with other Christian groups for a No Faith in Fossil Fuels church service and a climate pilgrimage.

There's something spiritual about coming together in an act of peaceful defiance - and with the climate crisis reaching boiling point, we need to pick up the pace.

Who

Representatives from Christian Aid, Christian Climate Action, Tearfund, CAFOD and others will be joining together. Everyone is invited to join. Especially you.

What

We’re meeting for a church service at St John Church, Waterloo followed by a pilgrimage to Parliament Square. We’ll be stopping by Shell’s UK headquarters en route.

When and where

Friday, 21st April 2023.

Meeting at St John’s, Waterloo, London at 11:15am. The service starts at noon.

The pilgrimage will finish in Westminster, where participants can choose to join thousands of other people calling for fossil fuels to be consigned to history. Activities around Parliament are being organised by Extinction Rebellion as part of 'The Big One' - a huge moment where people from across the country will demand action to end the climate crisis.

Why

Burning fossil fuels is destroying our common home. Our sisters and brothers in communities around the world are being hit hardest by the climate crisis.

So we'll come together to pray for our leaders (church, nation, world) to take the necessary action to tackle the current climate emergency and to declare that we have No Faith in Fossil Fuels.

What to bring

The most important thing to bring is yourself! And the more the merrier, so please do invite friends to come along.

Instead of the usual placards and signs, we are asking people to bring prayers written on paper or cardboard.

Other than that just bring whatever you need to be comfortable, we recommend suitable walking shoes, water and snacks. If you think standing or walking for an extended period of time might be difficult for you, please do bring a camping chair.

We look forward to seeing you there!
