Every word, conversation or presentation held about gifts in Wills could help create lasting change.

We’re here to help you every step of the way. Here are five ideas, using the worship resources, to help create your Faith Will moment.

1. Hold a Faith Will service

The Bible is full of passages that speak to the values of charitable giving, and the impact we can all have by leaving a gift in our Will.

Our handy worship resources offer a service guide. It’ll help you choose the right Bible passage and words to inspire others into action. We’ve got plenty of ideas to choose from – you can even tailor them to suit your congregation.

Don’t have time to dedicate a whole service to Faith Will? You can still spread the word with these quick ideas:

  • Use one of the themed sermon starters to inspire your congregation with the power of gifts in Wills
  • Show the Faith Will 3-minute film to your congregation

2. Keep it short with a small Faith Will section in your service

Don’t have time to dedicate a whole service to Faith Will? You can still spread the word with these quick ideas:

  • Use one of the themed sermon starters to inspire your congregation with the power of gifts in Wills
  • Show the Faith Will 3-minute film to your congregation
  • A Faith Will prayer to allow time to reflect on the film afterwards
  • Order a supply of Faith Will leaflets to have available in church for people to take away
  • Choose from a list of suggested hymns or songs to include or pick your own

3. Request a speaker

We have a number of trained Faith Will speakers available. They’d be delighted to inspire your congregation about the power of gifts in Wills.

To enquire about booking a speaker you can contact us at hello@christian-aid.org or call 020 7523 2493.

4. Include Faith Will in your Harvest activities

For Harvest, as well as the regular collection ask, we’re asking you to talk about gifts in Wills and the difference they can make to your church, and through Christian Aid. Here are a few ways to tie Faith Will into your Harvest:

  • Include one of the Harvest themed sermon starters. You can choose from our four options – how about “Faith Will…bear fruit”?
  • Use the Harvest prayers in the worship resources
  • Deliver the all-age talk – Mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow, based on Hebrews 11:1
  • Hold a legacy supper

5. Faith Will group activities

Faith Will is all about bringing people together. These group activities are a perfect way to inspire reflection. Why not incorporate them into your churches' activities?

  • Set up activity number 3 – Paying it forward, paper chains in your church. See how long of a chain you can make?
  • Use activity 2 and do a group reflection on ‘Faith Will…let our lives live on’, share what you would like your legacy to be with one another.
