85 – a new global deforestation deal has been struck which will cover 85% of the world’s forests.
90 – A new methane deal has been agreed by 90 countries.
But there is still work to do:
- This is an exclusive COP with civil society and faith organisations restricted from the negotiation rooms.
- UK Government has not yet pledged to end fossil fuel investments.
- There is still no commitment to reach 1.5C target
- Climate justice is the key to real change. Finance for climate loss and damage must be on the agenda COP26 and all future COPs.
