Christian Aid Week 2024 is now complete - a huge thank you to all who took part!
Book Sales
Many thanks to everyone who hosted a book sale - Holy Corner book sale at Morningside United Church, Edinburgh, raised an amazing amount, whilst it was super to see a brand-new book sale debut at and Kinnoull Parish Church in Perth. Alloway Church Halls also held a Coffee Morning, Book and Plant Sale, where home baking, teas, and coffees were available.
You can read more about the book sales and the upcoming one in New Town, Edinburgh, in our blog. A huge thank you to all involved!
Plant Sales
We were happy to attend an abundance of plant sales across Scotland this Christian Aid Week; giving our supporters the chance to get great value on garden plants, whilst supporting our work.
We attended multiple plant sales, including one that took place Newton Mearns (pictured). Many thanks to all who organised and took part in a sale this year.
Coffee Mornings
A huge well done and thank you to those who set up a coffee morning, lunch or Big Brekkie. Pictured here is our Church Engagement and Fundraising Officer, Rozelle, with supporters at the Newharthill and Carfin Coffee Morning.
Quiz Nights
Many of you downloaded our Christian Aid Week paper quiz to test your friends and raise money at your church. This was a great way for supporters to test their knowledge on all things animal and creature related. Others hosted homemade quiz events for teams of people to come together and test their general knowledge.
Thank you to all who took part, organised or volunteered during a quiz night, including our supporters pictured here at Willowbrae Parish Church’s Curry and Quiz Night.
Services
It’s not only fundraising that can make a huge difference during Christian Aid Week, but prayer and worship. We were grateful to see so many services and prayer events taking place across Scotland.
Thank you to all who led, spoke, prayed, or helped out at such events. Pictured is our Church Engagement and Fundraising Officer, Calum, with supporters at an evening service at St Columba's Episcopal Church.
Concerts & Music Events
What is Christian Aid Week without some lovely music? It was great to see many performances and music events taking place across the country.
From a rock concert in Glasgow, to classical music in Helensburgh, great musical events enabled people to donate to our work.
Well done all who performed and attended; including Terence O'Neill who is pictured here singing the opening arias from Messiah at Morningside Church's Concert.
Wear Red Wednesday
The Scotland Team also decided to spread some Christian Aid Week cheer during our Wear Red Wednesday event.
