After more than two decades of fighting poverty, we’ve shown that together we can turn hope into action and change lives for the better. But there’s still so much more to do.
Nigeria today
Remarkable progress against poverty has been made, but the shadow of conflict, economic turmoil and climate disaster still looms large.
-
46.40%
live below the poverty line (2019).
-
4.20%
unemployment rate (2023).
-
62.02%
literacy rate (2018).
Nigeria tomorrow
A just, equitable and peaceful Nigerian society where poverty is eradicated and everyone is empowered to live life in all its fullness.
How we help in Nigeria
We believe partnership is the best way to create lasting change. It's at the heart of all our work.
We partner with a network of churches, organisations and people of all faiths and none, to deliver life-changing programmes with communities in Nigeria. That could be improving access to essential healthcare, supporting disaster-hit areas with critical food and nutrition, or holding government to account over vital services they provide. These partnerships have allowed us to provide humanitarian relief to over 400,000 displaced people since 2016.
Our impact in Nigeria
Where we work
We work in areas where the need is greatest and we have strong existing partnerships.
