Did you know that 25 African countries spend more on debt payments than education?

They have been robbed of resources and left exposed to the impacts of the climate crisis. They are left with little choice but to borrow from greedy private lenders at staggering interest rates.

This is costing children their education, with millions never going to school.

But we are united by hope.

Twenty five years ago, we were part of the Jubilee 2000 movement that pressured the global North to write off $130 billion of debts owed by low-income countries. But the underlying causes of debt were never addressed.

We're calling on the UK Government to enact new debt justice laws to ensure every child has a future.
