Fossil fuel companies are making eye-watering profits while driving climate change. We believe they must be made to pay for the damage they're doing and support the people and communities most affected by the climate crisis.
British oil giant Shell made £9.6 billion in profits in just the first three months of the year! BP made £5 billion.
The story is the same across the world - fossil fuel producers are making money, hand over fist, prioritising shareholders over ordinary people and the planet.
In Pakistan more than 1,700 people died in 2022 after a third of the country was under water due to unprecedented flooding. In Ethiopia nearly 12 million are believed to be 'food insecure' due to the worst drought in 40 years. And in Malawi over half a million people were displaced following Cyclone Freddy.
This is the reality of climate related loss and damage.
We believe this is an injustice.
So, we're calling on the British Prime Minister to take action make these polluters pay into a loss and damage fund to support countries experiencing climate related loss and damage.
